Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring Minimize

What is ambulatory blood pressure monitoring?
Using an ambulatory blood pressure monitor, this test measures your blood pressure several times over a 24-hour period. This allows your physician to determine whether you may have “white coat hypertension” or to determine whether your current medications are controlling your blood pressure adequately.

Where can this test be scheduled?
Ambulatory blood pressure monitors are applied at our main office on East Stop 11 Road. The appointment takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

What are my instructions for this test?
You should take your medications as usual and perform your normal activities while you are wearing the monitor. You are asked not to swim, bathe or shower while wearing the monitor.

When will I get the results of my test?
If an IHP physician ordered the monitor, and if you have a scheduled appointment within 10 business days of your receiving the monitor, you will receive your results at your next appointment. If your appointment is greater than 10 days out or you do not have an appointment scheduled, your IHP doctor will receive the results 24 to 48 hours after your monitor is returned. You will then be called with your results or to schedule an appointment to review your results.
